Gill Matthews is an independent literacy consultant and writer.
Gill works with and in schools, supporting improvements in literacy. She delivers INSET and speaks on many aspects of literacy both nationally and internationally.
As a series editor, Gill is responsible for several major literacy programmes, notably Literacy World and Rigby Dimensions. She has also acted as English Advisor and Series Consultant for a number of publishers.
She was involved with the development of the National Literacy Strategy, specifically the non-fiction element of the NLS Framework for teachers. She has also worked as a Regional Adviser for Literacy with the Primary National Strategy in the West Midlands.
