Gill Matthews is a freelance literacy consultant and writer.
Gill works with and in schools, supporting improvements in literacy. She delivers INSET and speaks on many aspects of literacy both nationally and internationally.
As a series editor, Gill is responsible for several major literacy programmes, notably Literacy World and Rigby Dimensions. She has also acted as English Advisor and Series Consultant for a number of publishers.
She was involved with the development of the National Literacy Strategy, specifically the non-fiction element of the NLS Framework for teachers.
Gill is a Regional Adviser for Literacy with the Primary National Strategy in the West Midlands.
