Infoticons
Infoticons are visual prompts for non-fiction text types. They offer children concrete, rather than abstract, images that help them to visualise the structure of the non-fiction text types.
What makes these posters stand apart is the fact that the essential information is presented in an attractive context that also acts as a memory jogging tool. For example, the Discussion texts poster is illustrated with a set of weighing scales to illustrate the need for a balanced argument. This makes them particularly suitable for visual learners, who can recall the poster to help them remember what they need to be doing when writing and how they need to organise a particular non-fiction text style.
The posters are A2 size and wipe-clean, making them easy to annotate. They come with a CD-ROM for use on IWBs and a 12-page teacher’s booklet.
