Ready, Steady, Write
Ready, Steady, Write is a series of six packs that provide a solution to teaching writing in year 2. They are designed to help children improve their writing through a structured series of steps that include speaking and listening, drama and role-play. Each pack contains material for half a term of literacy hour activities, and together with the other packs in the series, provides a year long integrated programme.
Each pack includes a large resource book with stimulus material including lively colour illustrations, model texts, poems and non-fiction material linked to each theme. They also contain an A4 teacher's book which includes medium and short term plans together with detailed lesson plans. These cover fiction, non-fiction and poetry and include photocopy masters and all the back-up information that teachers and assistants need to plan creative literacy sessions.
